Red, White & Tuna
Friday, August 28, 2009 - 7:30pm
Written by Joe Sears, Edward Howard, & Jaston Williams
Presented by The State Repertory Theatre of Kentucky -- Horse Cave
"Funnier than Blue Collar Comedy Hour"
The much anticipated third installment in the Tuna trilogy takes the audience on another satirical ride into the hearts and minds of the polyester-clad citizens of Tuna, Texas. (But you don't need to have seen the first two to have a good time!) Robert Brock and Henry Kevin Haggard take the stage once again as the sole performers playing all of Tuna's inhabitants including men, women, children and animals (thanks to 40 lightning-quick costume changes). This latest saga includes all the Tuna favorites—the Prayer Posse led by Vera Carp and Reverend Spikes, Petey Fisk pleading for a more humane Tuna, and the flirtatious Tastee Kreme gals serving the goodies at the Reunion food booth. Don't miss out on the fun! www.kentuckyrep.org

A Dragon's Tale
Thursday, October 15, 2009 - 7:30pm
Nai Ni Chen Dance Company
"Color, beauty, and excitement don't need a translator." The Sunday Record
"…traditional dances with flashing silks, embroidered costumes and a flying dragon with golden scales … acrobats, some of whom impersonate a friendly lion … beautiful women, whose smiles adorn a nimble dance with colored streamers …always dazzle." Award winning Nai Ni Chen is a sophisticated choreographer who blends high-spirited folklore with samples of her contemporary work. The Star Ledger
Chen's husband and business manager, Andy Chiang says that dance, acrobatics, and martial arts overlap in Chinese culture-- Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan fans will find the performance particularly appealing.
